Throughout her career, Sheri Tenaglia's work has been an exploration of the role of light in shaping perspective and form in landscape.
Fascinated with the effect of light on color, Sheri pushes color to the extreme, with dramatic result. In her current series of paintings, the properties of light; shadow, reflection and illumination are executed in an abstract expression of the natural landscape.
While Sheri has worked in several mediums and is most recognized for her work in soft pastel, for the past few years she has been experimenting in encaustic and mixed media. With these paintings she breaks the rules of encaustic in a unique technique that provides new consideration to an ancient method.
Her work has been exhibited in many galleries and in many collections throughout Canada and the United States. She was recently commissioned as one of a team of three artists to develop the conceptual ideas for the new Corporate Head office of PowerStream in Ontario.
